Veterans Day Flag Assembly at Central Elementary, Union, Missouri. Led by Cub Scout Pack 442, Den 7.
THANK YOU to all who have served our country and are currently serving. It is because of you that my boys have the freedom to salute our flag at school each morning.

The lower elementary grades held a flag assembly Monday morning to honor our local veterans. Then the higher elementary grades invited the veterans for lunch.

Noah and his great-great aunt and uncle in the Clark-Vitt lunch room. The teachers and administrators served a home cooked meal complete with desserts for the veterans.

My great-uncle Roy Poertner was in the Korean War and worked as an electrician, repairing power lines in Korea. He and my great-aunt Marian were engaged before he left, and he came home after 2 years of serving our country (6 months of training and 18 months overseas).

All above photos were created with my iPhone. And that is why the best camera is always the one that you have with you.
